The influence of the form and cross-sectional area of the rail on the stability of jointless track

Keywords: cross-sectional area of the rail, stability of jointless track, static theory, linear resistance, the coefficient of viscosity of the ballast, consideration the influence of the trains.

Abstract

Тhe influence of the form and cross-sectional area of the rails on stability of a jointless track is described in the article. Recommendations for the revision of the TU-2000 are given and the need to withdraw from the use of table (appendix 2.1), because it incorrectly reflect the actual conditions of stability.

Remote monitoring of the snow depth in the snow-slip-prone areas

Keywords: monitoring, snow cover, digital terrain model, aerophotography

Abstract

It is impossible to design the avalanche protective complexes of transport structures without prior determining the avalanche load to the protection facilities. The load value is the subject of the snow depth on the avalanche catchment slope. Evaluation of this parameter is a serious problem due to lack of the system data on the snow cover in the area.

One of the most promising methods of the efficient solving of this task is the development of the digital models of the snow cover on the avalanche catchment slope. Developed in the Siberian State University of Railway Engineering (SSURE) is the method of remote monitoring of the snow depth with the use of the pilotless plane (drone).

The essence of the method is in systematic aerophotography of the avalanche risk slopes with a digital amateur (non-metric) camera installed on a drone. The results of the processed aerophotography materials are the digital models and cartograms of the snow cover depth occurred during the necessary period of time with the detail and precision necessary for the subsequent calculation.

This method is illustrated with the cartograms and digital models of the snow cover depth on the SSURE testing area. The results obtained with the developed method may be used for forecasting the level of the avalanche risk, for calculating the avalanche shock load and determining the main parameters of the avalanches.

Determining parameters of an object in a series of his images in an integrated monitoring system

Keywords: system monitoring and photofixation, blur of the image, focal length, conditions of the survey, the RGB model, the number of the diaphragm, the determination of the distance, the accuracy of the calculations.

Abstract

The main aim of this paper is to modify the method of determining the geometric and kinematic characteristics of a moving object by examining its images. Here developed a complex method of determining parameters of a static or moving object, based on the use of algorithms stereo vision and blurring of object images obtained from two cameras. The spectrum of colors available in the image object, it is proposed to allocate blue, green, red. Numerical studies have shown that the proposed method is better than existing methods allows to determine the distance to a moving object. The proposed computational scheme and methods may be implemented for detecting defects superstructure when using geometry car.
